Copenhagen Ultracontemporary Biennale is activating the five-floor clock tower of Copenhagen City Hall with agora-like debate about emergencies, an exhibition by artist Thierry Geoffroy/ COLONEL and a presentation about time by curator Tijana Miskovic.
A clock tower is a poetic place where time and precision are central. For Copenhagen Ultracontemporary Biennale interested in THE NOW, it is interesting and relevant to use the tower as a starting point for warming up the biennale concept. The tower also connects us to the city and people of Copenhagen. From the top of the tower, we can see the urban landscape and point out the different venues in town that we will activate during the biennale.
Earlier this month one of the floors has been activated with daily awareness muscle training sessions with citizens of Copenhagen. Participants with different professions such as fireman, lawyer, nurse, designer, journalist and philosopher, could debate about emergencies in the society today while making a physical effort.
